The photoshop Genie

Basham is essentially, a Visual Artist & Mater graduate in Media studies with a lifelong (20+ yrs) experience as a Photographer and photography Post production mainly with Adobe Photoshop. As a freelance Visual artist most of my work was Photo manipulations such as Restoration of Old photos and Cosmetic manipulations. 

It all started with digital painting on Microsoft Paint on my first Pentium computer with windows 98 and a couple of years ahead i encountered Adobe photoshop and I fell in love with it. And its my 23rd year playing with Adobe Photoshop and today I can literarily do any kind of stuff that can be done best with Photoshop.

Here in this section, I am sharing some of the past work related to different niches of Visual manipulation work that i have done for clients in past 5 years.

Photography Post Production

My venture in digital arts began back in 2002, when I discovered that post-production can turn my photography into digital version of the world that i see from my eyes. A new world opens up then when i learnt adjusting colors, tweaking shadows and highlights, playing with exposure and levels, glitching textures for hours and hours no my Pentium desktop computer until the grid of pixels would appear to be perfectly aligned to mimic  the canvas of universe as I perceived with my eyes. Dead photographs came alive, whispered secrets, and demanded more experiments. That was beginning of the wonderful creation and I wasn’t editing anymore I was engineering the digital visual realities.

Photo Restoration

I have spent most of my Photoshop time in Restoring the old or damaged photos that held utmost importance and precious memories to my clients. Fixing the cracks, scratches, tears, water damage, and discoloration.

Forensic Authentication

In photo restoration we are actually doing a kind of very sophisticated “Forgery in positive essence” with colors and layers to repair the visual. So decades of Photo restoration work gave me an eye trained to detect if something is Restored, manipulated or simply forged.

And most of us trust what our eyes see until the truth buried inside the pixels is revealed.

AI and digital technologies today have blurred totally the line between Reality and rendered illusion. Worse is the rise of Visual frauds and forgeries in this age of AI. So working as a Digital forensic authenticator is kind of work of digital warrior for Truth and its what i love most as it pushes me to my limits, it allows me to play with all my acquired experience in my field.

AI Hallucitions

AI has just grown from infancy, learning to make the “Flawless”, that’s why still most of the AI-generated images looking almost right but not quite usable.. Right? Here’s where i invited to jump in and help.

These terrible distortions are called AI Hallucinations and I specialize in fixing these distortions, and visual inconsistencies in AI-generated art.
